Great backup pump, but the added float cost not worth it
Definitely good as a backup pump but I wish I had gone with the cheaper version that came with the float tilt sensor instead of the sensor on a rod that cost much more. I could have made my own lift float sensor much cheaper than 50 or $60. The flow rate seems good for a 12 volt backup pump. I like the top ejection hole for a smaller footprint. Will need to see how the lifetime is. Seems like typical budget construction from China but nothing looks like it will break too easily. The pump connection was difficult to seat fully on top of the battery case but I'm not expecting it will ever really matter.

Disappointed
Had a hard time installing in an operating sump. Check valve is really cheap and probably won’t last. Using the pump as a backup but I’m not sure it will keep up if the main pump fails. The tethered float is very difficult to set.

Check valve and tethered switch issues
Overall I actually like this battery backup sump pump. I like the controls, the pump, and how it operates, however there are two issues that people should be aware off. First the check valve is extremely fragile. Mine broke when I was hand tightening it, I was not using any tools to tighten it! If you are going to use the valve that came with the pump, then just put it on without tightening and use a hose clamp to secure it in place. Second, the tethered switch was a challenge to setup properly. The cable is somewhat stiff, if it is too short then the switch will not turn on. At 2 inches the float was completely underwater and it did not turn on. At 4 inches it worked great, which for my installation caused other issues, I did get it to work for my system at about 3 inches. My concern is long term, if the cable hardens with age, then the switch will not work. My plan if the test the system by actually putting water into the basin once a month for 6 months, if it proves reliable then I will chance my rating to 4 stars. If you can get this system with a regular float switch then stay away from the tethered switch. The check valve was an easy fix, the tethered switch setup and operation was an effort and left me concerned about reliability.

Control box was defective. BIG DELAY
Control box was defective out of the carton! Called customer support- did trouble shooting- said they would ship replacement controller. Sent it US mail???? Never arrived!! Called back 10+ days later- they shipped another by US mail????- took 10 days! Caused big delay due to poor quality control.

Great Backup Sump Pump
So I purchased this pump setup for the low price of $170 which isn't bad considering the competition. I got the tethered float since it was much cheaper. The standing float brought the kit price up to $230! What?? So The tether float works just fine, it also gives you a little extra space to work with in the pit. My crock isn't very large so this actually ended up helping me out. The battery case is plastic with the controls built into it. The pump is a sturdy thermoplatic that really does feel quite durable. The kit comes with battery standoffs as well as a plastic check valve built to screw on to the pump. Both nice additions I wasn't originally aware of. Everything seemed to go fairly well and the pump was installed in the bottom of my crock same as my AC pump. I do this because the check valve within the crock made it so I could not mount the pump to the discharge line as the directions state. The pump still operates fine in this way. It does sit pretty flush to the ground though and is bottom draw so I made a little platform for it to sit on so it doesn't pick up all the garbage on the bottom of the crock. My only real gripe with this kit is that the check valve is pretty weak and cracked on me when installing. I was unaware it even came with it so I won't dock a star for this as maybe I had tightened it too much. I ended up using a normal 1-1/2" Zoeller valve for this pump and a quiet spring loaded valve on my AC pump. Overall this is a good setup that seems like it will continue to work and give me peace of mind that I won't flood my basement. I used the MightyMax 75Ah battery on Amazon for this setup. It fits perfect in the battery case and also was a good price at $140 at the time of this review. This is a good setup if you already have an AC pump and don't want to replace it like me.

So far so good except one thing
So far so good except one thing. This was easy to install and is strong as a battery back up. Empties quite quickly. However every time it’s activated a loud piercing alarm sounds and does not turn off until you physically press the reset button for five seconds! We popped a little bit of glue silicone into the speaker and then stuck a heavy duty felt tip over it to mute the sound. Besides that this really sucks! Ha ha

Powerfully empties sump
Powerful pump rapidly clears sump. Installation instructions could be more extensive. It describes as recommended installation, but then simply says "other installationss are possible". If you do not have a configuration that matches the description (a fairly deep well with a quite long vertical section of PVC rising from the main pump) then you will need to change the install. They do say they have a help line for this which I have not tried. My only real gripe is that the plug of thecharger cable to the battery box fits very loosely, instead of plugging in firmly - easy to dislodge. The description makes it clear that the you need to provide your own battery (my fault if I did not read it) be prepared to spend about another $175 for one that meets specifications.

So far a good pump for the money
I bought this after a year of worrying what I would do in the event of a power failure to take over for my sump pump that runs every 2 minutes at times. A generator would be an option but what if we weren't home. This seemed like a good unit for the price so I gave it a try. It installed pretty easy but with it attaching to the current discharge pipe it is right on top of the primary unit. I haven't needed it yet but when I unplugged the primary pump this pump actually pumped out the sump as quick as the primary pump.

Functions very well. Low noise and strong lif
Initially had a problem with the unit control module not working. Contacted customer service and they were excellent, helped diagnose the problem and sent replacement module immediately. Module was easy to replace. Installation was a bit tricky but the design allows for lots of adjustment. Just note that in install in a standard prefab sunup pit requires mounting lower than you expect because of the float switch design. Pump is silent and strong. I have about 8ft of lift and absolutely no issues. Have had two power outages since installed and worked perfectly each time.

Recommend
The pump and equipment is "fairly easy" to put together. My sump hole is different from what is in the instructions but a little common sense will get you up an running. By the time I had purchased the hoses and a decent battery, the total cost was $600. Two days after installing, we had a five hour power outage and the back up worked perfectly. Recommended for sure.

Excellent Product
Installed this unit as a primary pump. This pump is better than the primary pump I had before. It has a fierce discharge. I turned off the alarm by holding down the ‘silence’ button for 5 seconds. I have a great unit with a battery backup when the electricity dies.

Très beau kiT
Très bon produit en cas de panne d’électricité ( attention la batterie à décharge profonde n’est pas incluse)
