Great compact heater

I thought this would work on a golf cart but the tilt over feature is so sensitive that it could not be used unless you remove that feature. I did so!

Do not use in golf cart because it will not stay lit when moving.

Sturdy, easy to light. Unfortunately I can't use it for what I bought it for- in my golf cart. As soon as the cart moves, the heater goes off. It will now be a camping tabletop heater.

It produces some heat, but it’s a bit unstable.

I wanted a small heater for emergencies after the winter storm fiasco here in texas a few years ago so I figured this would be good to make sure nothing freezes and to provide a bit of warmth in a pinch. The unit itself is simple enough, there’s the top part which the propane bottle screws into, and the base. The heater has two buttons, labeled on and off, so very basic and easy to use. The instructions are also clearly printed on the heater as well for ease of use which is nice, along with a large label of warnings for those who may not be the most informed when it comes to dealing with heaters like these. I tested it tonight in about 39 degree Fahrenheit weather and it seemed to do okay, I measured that I could feel the warmth (with my hands) about 20 inches from where the heater head points, and about 24 inches above the head of the heater, obviously because the heat was rising so it makes sense that it would have a higher range above. Now a few drawbacks, first one being that it feels a bit cheap because of the plastic, kinda where you can lightly tap it with your nail and you can hear the lower grade of the plastic. I’m not saying it won’t hold up, but if it’s dropped, I’d question whether it will break or not. This brings me to my next drawback, that being that the base isn’t tall or wide enough to confidently hold the heater because of the weight all being at the top in the heater, it’s unstable and definitely not for anything other than a flat/stable surface. Either a different material where the bottle sits or having a wider/taller base (probably all 3 things) would have been ideal. Overall, it will work in a pinch so long as it’s in a semi stable environment, but definitely needs to be monitored at all times just due to the unstable base.

Heat Hog Portable Propane Heater

I purchased this to use and have found that it is not very safe. It does have a base that can be secure to the ground or some form of foundation, however, the unit at the top is heavy. So heavy that the propane bottle will not stay in the base provided, and keeps tipping over. I feel this is a safety issue, that could cause a fire if you aren't watching it constantly. The company must know this as they do not allow this item to be returned. While the company that manufactured this item, would not accept it being returned, Amazon made good on refunding the funds.

Nice personal heater

Works good as a personal heater. While sitting in a char just point it at you between your legs and you will get a pile of heat. The base holds tanks if they are perfect, most of mine have a little bit of a bulge and won't fit. Starts easy with the push of the button, first time lighting it you will probably have to hold it down a bit longer then usual. There is not adjustment is runs full blast or nothing at all.

Perfect small heater

This thing is great. I have been using it for my garage this winter to work on my vehicles. It does great for smaller spaces.

Couldn’t get it to work, returned it. They didn’t even want it back. Don’t think this model is sold anymore.
