Make sure to follow the recommended application techniques

Working my way through painting all the cabinets in our new home. They were all the old, golden oak style. And they had not been well maintained at all. Original pic included of the bathroom vanity for reference. Decided to use Nantucket for it's softer blue color in the guest bathrooms and laundry room. So happy I did. It is a beautiful color and it covered the oak pretty well without priming at all. Yes, you can still see the grain, and there is some texture to it (they don't look "factory"), however after watching what seemed like 100 you tube videos on how to apply the product I was expecting the texture. One thing to note is that you do need to apply it differently than normal paint. You stipple and roll. There are so many videos out there to help. I really did watch a ton before I decided to go with this paint. I am not a painter, and I was able to get pretty decent results. Get a whole ton of chip brushes to use, and some good quality 3/8" nap rollers. The paint does dry fast so you need to get a rhythm down to keep clumps and drips at bay. I found my problem spots to be the corners of the inner part of the doors. And clean the cabinets well before you start. I used simple green like the manufacturer suggests. I did have a few areas where the paint had a little trouble sticking and I can only guess I didn't clean those spots well enough. We bought the house as a fixer and the cabinets definitely hadn't been cleaned in a long time. Outside of that the paint went on well, dried fast, and was easy to work with. My dad, who is a perfectionist, came over and raved about how everything looked. And wants to now do his kitchen! High praise indeed. I did take away one star because there is a bit of a grainy texture in spots where it didn't self level all the way and the paint does dry quickly so there are some little tiny "clumps" that made it all the way to dry and I couldn't roll out. I think the paint was drying in the tray and when it was rolled on these dry bits just settled in. It doesn't particularly bug me, but I can see it bugging other people. It's probably user error, but since the paint is really marketed to people like me with no experience, it's something to be aware of. I may go back later and try to sand and redo, but that will be a down the road project. I was happy enough with the paint that I did literally every cabinet in my entire house with it (used the bright white on the kitchen and master bath. . . separate review there).

MOSTLY a great cabinet paint…

I used a 50/50 blend of bright blue and soft grey for my upper kitchen cabinets. This came out a Wedgewood blue color perfect for my cottage. I just received a quart of Mocha for my bottom cabinets. FYI the name is a bit misleading - this color is a deep DARK chocolate brown rather than a milky brown. It is lovely and I am looking forward to using it. I will unfortunately have to wait for a really pleasant spring day for this project. I took off a star on this otherwise great paint because both colors have a strong ammonia odor when wet, in spite of being described as “odorless”. Irritating to my nose and lungs for a bit. Use it with your doors and windows wide open for several hours!

Paint good, shipping terrible

When the paint arrived it was clear that it was "used " in that the interior seal was broken and some paint leaked all over the bottle, the plastic cushioning and the box. I should have returned it but was in a hurry to get the project done. I sanded rough spots but they leaked through even after 2 coats. I put Kilz over all those spots and the 3rd coat was good. Overall, the product was good and I'm happy with the results. For a 7 drawer dresser I didn't use even half the quart so a pint might have been enough. I painted a small 4 drawer chest, used Kilz first, finished it with 2 coats and still have paint left. Don't know about durability yet.

Superb

The color covered my queen size rice bed excellently. Two coat were sufficient, but I added a third for more certainty. The paint does have a strong odor, and ventilation will be required. Very good product, highly recommend.

Best paint I’ve found for refinishing furniture.

Used this paint to refinish an old dresser. Beyond happy with the results. Only needed two coats of paint.

It’s great, one can us more than enough for cabinets!

I liked the final result but if buying white, you’ll have to do at least 3-4 coats. It says that you aren’t required to sand, but I think that it would make the process much easier if your cabinets are a little glossy like mine. I do recommend and you get a lot with one can, using the remainder (more than half the gallon) for other projects.

Product works great

This paint coats very well, Ut the white does require several extra coats over dark colors. This can did come damaged but I am using the entire can so it should not be a big issue, but better packaging would be nice…

Brown Color

We painted our wood interior boat. We taught the color espresso would be dark, but finally it is not. Its brown. The quality is great, but the color isn’t what we wanted. We wanted darker. But it’s okay, we’ll work with it!

CBSA will open it, it will leak

The product arrived late but it arrived. It is as advertised, easy to apply and looks amazing once it cures. Shipping was late and CBSA opened my paint container, did not seal it back correctly and therefore it leaked in the box. I was not impressed.

It Truly is Beyond Paint

No stirring is necessary, it goes on quickly and evenly, and it was an easy cleanup. The colour Pebble is a beautiful grey colour, has a slightly textured finish and 2 coats, three hours apart, were enough. The paint odour at first is no worse than shoe polish and I wasn’t noticing it after 10 minutes. I painted the three items in my apartment and my neighbours had no idea. I ordered a quart, with about half left after painting a three-drawer dresser, two-drawer bedside table and both sides of a wooden lap desk.
