rain gauge

Easy to empty, a little hard to read the gauge

Great value

This rain gauge works great, just be sure to bring it inside before winter! Ours froze and cracked. I also added a drop of food coloring in the bottom to make the level easier to see.

Cheap plastic junk

Fragile- wind easily blows this gauge off of its mounting piece. It lasted less than one gardening season and was found shattered on the ground. Find something of higher quality.

It has easily seen increments

It has easily seen increments, but the color makes it hard to see at a distance and the molded plastic which slides over the stake is visible through the beaker at the one inch line; this sometimes looks like we have received one inch of rain until you do a closer inspection.

Doesn't catch the rain....

Flimsy plastic that won't last the season. Also, either the rain is coming down everywhere except where the rain gauge is, or it doesn't seem to catch the rain in the small opening. My neighbours in the city recorded over an inch of rain, while this rain gauge, less than 100 feet away from the neighbour's, recorded less than a tenth. It's in the middle of my lawn, completely in open area, and the rain doesn't go in to it.

Need a bit of sandpaper to make it work.

Reasonably well made. Was what I expected. That said, the spike or mounting adapter (depending on how you use it) did not fit well. Was way too tight to use in either intended way. Had to use sandpaper and take a bit off the attaching points to make it fit so that one would not break it in the first use. A few minutes of work and it is fine now. For the price, its fine. I'm happy.

Garbage

Bought this to measure the water from my sprinkler and rain. It didn’t catch squat. It’s very cheaply made. I returned it.

Readability

Cheap plastic. Get what u pay for. Stand broke so vertical mounted so because see thru the mount looks like 3/4” of rain all the time until u walk right up to it to actual get a good reading
