Did not fit my Sperry DM - 6400 multimeter

After contacting the mfg. they recommended i purchase these test leads.They did not fit the 4 mm Sperry jack leads of my Sperry DM - 6400 and i returned them. I threw the Sperry multimeter in the trash and bought a Klein mm 700.

Needed Fixing First

They would not allow a stable resistance reading (0) when the two probes were held together. I used a sandpaper bit on a rotary tool to remove all the chrome; now they work fine. They were made in China.

Okay for cheap leads if you work indoors

Failed the beep check on my meter. Turned out the tips have some transparent residue?? Tried to scrape it off. The PVC insulation is tough and flexible at room temperature. Dont take this outdoors in winter though. Worst flaws is: No strain relief at handle i.e. the business end! Won't last very long.

doesn't fit, flimsy banana connection

I bought this for a fluke 75, the banana connection OD was a tad too big. Also, the banana connection plastic which inserts into the instrument is not tough ABS as claimed in the ad. It is soft plastic which easily deforms when attempting to insert. My original leads have very firm plastic which took the many insertion/removal cycles over the many years of use. Could not even measure lead resistance of these leads. Only good thing is the price. One star for each lead.
