Great!
We put them in our kitchen can and haven't had a puncture or leak. We're tough on garbage bags. They're big for our kitchen cans- but when we take the trash out we collect from the rest of the house. Poky items never seem to break through and bags don't get weakened by grease, coffee, water, juice, etc. Will continue to order.

All green bags are not biodegradable…
I like the product, but should have read and reread the description as you can recycle these, but they are not compostable. Therefore, the local government service that usually picks up leaves in “green” bags shot these down.

Yes, not biodegradable, but...
As another reviewer mentioned, these are not compostable bags. However, I've been unsuccessful in finding biodegradable bags in this larger size. At least these WILL degrade eventually. It's still waaayyy better than the plastic bags which take generations to break down. Shame, shame, shame to the warehouse which applied a large paper sticker to the box RIGHT OVER the punch-out area intended to allow dispensing of the bags from the carton (see pic). That said, when I finally got the slot punched out, it was completely useless for dispensing, as the bag roll won't turn inside when you pull on the leader through this slot. I will simply remove the roll (two rolls are in the box) and place it where the bags are stored in my pantry. I am happier to use this product than the plastic bags available at my local stores. I will hope for a better product in future.

Does the job--just what I was looking for
I make an effort to choose environmentally responsible products. And I was surprised at how difficult it was to find biodegradable trash bags. Since we go through so many of these things, and because making biodegradable plastic is (according to what I’ve read recently) not all that difficult, why on earth are we still throwing away so many millions of non-degradable bags with all our garbage? I bought these to line a trash can into which I toss yet more biodegradable small bags filled with dog waste. I just couldn’t continue to throw out large plastic bags filled with more plastic bags knowing they’d be around basically forever. These are not inexpensive compared to regular trash bags at about 50 cents per bag. They’re light, but strong enough. I would like to be able to order more sizes. This fits in a large bin, but it would be great to have a kitchen trash can size. Other reviewers have pointed out that these bags can take a few years to degrade. That’s true—their degradability depends upon the environment into which they are disposed of. However, three years versus hundreds, and by some estimates not at all. I’d say 3 years isn’t so bad. Not 5 stars because they're expensive.

Nice replacement for our cheaply made bags
The City of Houston "approved" bags are so cheaply made, and expensive, that it sometimes took 2 bags for the lawn waste. Houston also is not very good at maintaining their pickup schedule. I recently had bags sitting out for 9 weeks (they tell you once out, leave them) and all of the "approved" bags had disintegrated while the few Stout bags were going strong. Definitely worth the purchase.

NOT Compostable/Biodegradable & No means to tie
The "Cons": Despite their description, these bags are NOT compostable/biodegradable!! These are made, like all other trash bags - by using oil! Minus 1.5 stars, as I Hate being lied to. Another point that I removed .5 stars for, is that these bags Do Not have ANY means to tie it whatsoever (making it a pain to close). They could have easily included twist ties or engineered a handle tie, for their customer's convenience. On the "Pro" side: These bags ARE much stronger than the average trash bag. I have not had a single issue with items poking through (as always happened when using "Hefty" brand). These are durable and will not easily RIP or tear. But - they are made by using oil : (

Good Buy! Holds up well.
I have a big yard. I'm able to fill up a TON of yard waste. The bag maintains stability when full. Resists tears from small twigs. Can hold up on the curb for a couple days without breaking down.
