Fantastic Bit
What a wonderful piece of equipment. Cuts absolutely clean edges and bottoms effortlessly. Unfortunately, I broke it after one week of use, purely out of my own improper handling. I have read many people saying not to push carbide bits too hard. Tried making a half inch plunge through 3/4" piece of plywood and there it went. Ruined the bit, the plank and my expensive jig. But I would buy again and this time take much shallower cuts. Lesson learnt the expensive way. But I am glad no major mishap occurred.

... it for - cuts cleanly through plywood with 99% perfect edges and no surface marring
This bit does exactly what I bought it for - cuts cleanly through plywood with 99% perfect edges and no surface marring. We used it to cut 1/2" and 3/4" finished maple plywood on a ShopBot and saw a small amount of surface tearout with a nearly new bit - went back and checked the settings, and we'd accidentally made the first pass 1/4" deep - if cutting in multiple passes, the first pass needs to be >1/4" deep (we went with 3/8) so you're cutting the top surface with the "DOWN" part of the bit. The first 1/4" is the UP part. After taking care of that everything went smoothly.

Great Bit but be Aware
I purchased two of these bits for use in my small home shop. They cut through 3/4 double sided melamine like butter with no chipping. One word of caution though. As opposed to other similar bits I've used, these leave small grooves in the material they cut through. The teeth are offset from one side to the other so I'm not sure why the groove is left. It is a recessed groove so if you are taping the edge or mating it with another piece of wood it would never show, and it may provide a channel for glue to settle into. However, if you are planning on leaving the edge raw for some reason, the grooves will show.

Cuts super clean but breaks very easy
I love the way this cuts, it cuts super clean, quiet and it produces small chips and instead of fine dust. The bad is its really weak and breaks very easy. I used it for nesting and I cut 8 sheets and a small part moved which broke the cutter my other cutters I use would have just kept going. I cut another 5 sheets and the same thing happened so I was pretty disappointed since I use a lot of Freud blades and bits I had high expectations for this bit.

Great bit and I don't have to make such a deep initial plunge. Many compression up/cut buts have such a large up cut portion on the bottom of the bit an initial plunge of more than a 1/4" is needed or it will burn the wood. With this bit you barley need more than an 1/8" initial plunge and no burning!

Does what it should
Works great no problems. Cuts 3/4” plywood in one pass for cabinet parts.

On shallow mortises (1/4") this leaves some tearout on the surface.
On shallow mortises (1/4") this leaves some tearout on the surface. I've had to plane the boards down ~1/16th of an inch to get back to a clean surface.

First time I have used the "double compression" bit. Since using it I will probably not go back to using any other type of bit. It is "perfect."

Not bad, but not super.
Bought this bit for my CNC router so I didn't have to change bits from downcut to upcut when cutting through sheet goods. It does an excellent job on the top and bottom surface cut and does exactly what it's supposed to with pretty much no tear-out once you get the depth set up. The problem is the edge surface; it leaves a small ridge where the bit transitions from upcut to downcut. Nothing that a flush trim router bit on my router table can't handle but that more than negates the time saved from one less bit change. I love Freud bits and will continue to buy them, just maybe not their compression bits; especially for the price.
