Oregon V68 for my Sthil MS251 from now on!
Out of the box this chain performed and I am still on the same chain after a whole mornings hardwood cutting in dense jungle, pepper pine, paper bark, cedar and pine. I have a Sthil MS251 and have been consistently buying Sthil OEM Chains. However that changed as of this morning. I went with the power cut v68. It has a hit lite bite and is hungry so a little more to be mindful of but love it. I am likely only going to buy these moving forward. I have had the chain come off twice after getting a fair bit of work done so will monitor that but nothing crazy. The chain is still throwing chips even after a whole mornings hard clearing.

These are great chains! I’ve been around saws for several decades. Oregon chains are top notch. These are a good price, too!

Fantastic chain replacement for my Stihl MS 250
Back when I was researching information for my chainsaw purchase, I kept seeing these arborist talk about Oregon chainsaw chain. Despite many attempts to sharpen, using various Stihl tools, I could not get the chain to perform as when it was new. I installed the Oregon chain and was amazed at how well it cut. Large aspen logs that my Stihl chain could not handle were easily cut by the Oregon chain. I will update this post after a few months using this chain. That is why I could not rate longevity.

You will get an aggressive cut
I have a Stihl chainsaw and have been using that brand of blade for over ten years. I was pleasantly surprised by not having to sharpen as often and the aggressiveness of the cut. Although it took some adjusting to get the blade on I would recommend the V68 powerCut to anyone.

Perfect for a Stihl MS 250/251
I’ve looked for the best chain for my Stihl MS 251 for a while. It’s hard to find anything other than a Stihl chain. Most of what I come across is the same brand and don’t get me wrong their great, but I have discovered that they don’t last or they don’t cut as good as they should. This chain on the other hand is really amazing! For the money and the saw it’s what you need. Anything more and I’m afraid your saw won’t be able to handle it, this chain is the perfect balance between sharp, durable and long lasting. For a saw that’s not quite professional grade, but just what you want for a hand full of trees to cut every year. I’d like to test the forester bar and chain set up at some point, but this year at least I’m good with my Stihl bar and Oregon V-68 chain. I haven’t tried sharpening it just yet so I’ll come back and let everyone know what that is like.

Oregon L68 chain for my Stihl MS251 works great !
This Oregon L68 fit my Stihl MS251 chainsaw like a glove. I actually have 3 of these and they hold their sharpness pretty well. I use it for cutting thru post oak , red oak and pecan wood without a hitch. I hand file my own chains with the appropriate file and have no problem with them. Great chain for the price.

THIS PRODUCT DELIVERED AND THENSOME ...
IF YOU ARE AN OEM PERSON BUT FEEL YOU ARE ON THE FENCE REGARDING CHAINSAW CHAINS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. I USE A STIHL MS250 FOR AROUND THE HOUSE AND HAVE NEVER BEEN HAPPY WITH THE ORIGINAL CHAIN THAT CAME WITH MY SAW. IT WAS A WORKOUT TO CUT ANYTHING IN MY YARD FROM OAK TREES TO SIMPLY TRIMMING. AFTER RESOLVING MYSELF TO THE FACT I NEEDED TO TRY SOMETHING NEW I PURCHASED THE OREGON L68 AND WAS COMPLETELY AMAZED WITH IT. THERE IS SIMPLY NO COMPARING THE OEM CHAIN THAT I HAD BEEN USING VERSUS THE OREGON. THE OREGON CUTS THRU WOOD LIKE A HOT KNIFE THRU BUTTER. IT WAS AMAZING TO SEE CHUNKS OF WOOD FLYING BY MY HEAD IN LIEU OF THE USUAL SAWDUST. THAT BEING SAID YOU WILL NEED EYE PROTECTION. BEST PART OF ALL IS THE TIME YOU WILL SAVE CUTTING. THAT HAS DIMINISHED SIGNIFICANTLY. NOT ONLY IS IT A GREAT CHAIN BUT IT WILL REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF TIME YOU SPEND HUNCHED OVER SO THERE IS THAT. I THOROUGHLY ENJOY CUTTING NOW AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ALL WHO ARE ON THE FENCE.

Replaced my stihl chain
Couldn’t justify myself spending $40 on another Stihl chain so have this one a shot. Was able to spend about 30-40 min removing a large stump about 3 feet high into many pieces. Chain is pretty much dull at this point but I still think I’d rather buy 2 of these than one Stihl chain. Will most likely purchase again
