This stuff actually WORKS!!! (Are you ready for a super long review? Buckle up…here we go!)
I REALLY wish I had known about this product YEARS ago…because it actually works to eliminate cat urine odors AND male cat spray (which for those who may not know…is different and MUCH more pungent) and it would have saved me a lot of time, effort, money, frustration, etc. When I first saw the price…I was hesitant to buy it because I thought it was expensive and I had my doubts about it actually doing what it claims (I’ve been burned many times before by other products and I’m sure you have too), but let me tell you…it is worth every penny! So as long as it isn’t going to break the bank for you, I recommend giving it a try. I originally bought the scented one, but when it arrived I could smell it without even opening the bottle and it was a nauseating scent. Sort of reminded me of licorice or star anise, which for me personally…is ????. I know everyone has different scent likes and dislikes, but thought I’d share that, for those who also despise those type of scents. DEFINITELY not something I want to have lingering in my home. So I returned it and ordered the unscented one. So much better! It does have a smell, but I don’t find it very strong and it does not linger very long at all. I don’t find that most things that are “unscented” are TRULY without a smell. It usually just means no ADDED fragrance, but the products typically still smell like SOMETHING. However, your carpet (or whatever you use it on) will smell like nothing after it’s done doing its job. At least that’s been my experience. I originally bought this because I rescued 4 very young kittens (approx. 4-5 weeks old) and they kept peeing on the carpet and some other places. They have since stopped (they are 6 months old now) thankfully! However, NOW there is a neighbors un-neutered cat that KEEPS coming into our yard and on our deck and spraying all over the place! It’s smells horrible! So I’ve been periodically spraying Anti Icky Poo out there and it breaks down the uric acid and the smell goes away. Because I’ve had to use so much of it now… I will be ordering a 2nd bottle of this amazing product! I know this is a long review…but if you want to stick with me…I’m going to add some advice on how to use it. Try to use it as soon as possible after finding the pee, as the sooner you use it the better it will be. Wipe up/soak up as much pee as possible. DO NOT use/spray anything else on the spot(s), as this can interfere with how the Anti Icky Poo works and can actually make it more difficult for it to do its job, which means you’ll likely have to use more product and spend more valuable time working on cleaning it up or waiting for it to work. DO NOT even use warm or hot water on the spots or in the washing machine…as this can actually SET the odor stain and can again, make it more difficult to get rid of the urine odor. If you really feel like you need to use water, use COLD water. Although, this really isn’t necessary. It would be better to rinse with cold water AFTER the Anti Icky Poo has eliminated the odor. Products always recommend testing out on a small or inconspicuous spot, to make sure it doesn’t bleach or ruin the material in some way, but if I’m being honest…I did not bother with this because the only other option is to be stuck with the urine odor forever, no thank you! I’d rather have a faded spot on my carpet or couch or whatever…than choose to just keep the urine smell around forever. But ultimately, this is up to you of course. Luckily, I didn’t happen to have any issues with this. I recommend Googling the best way to use for the particular surface or material the urine is on because there are some different tips out there depending on what your going to be using it on, that you may find quite helpful. That’s all I can think of. I hope this long a#* review helps someone out there. Haha Thank you to everyone who has rescued or adopted cats, dogs or any other animals. I truly appreciate you! ???? Good luck with everything and take care!

It actually works - but be realistic
As someone with a major cat urine problem and have gone through gallons of this stuff, I thought it’d be helpful to leave a realistic review and share my story. I recently moved to a different apartment and the previous tenants had a cat. There was tons of cat hair around the apartment and wasn’t very clean overall, but I figured “no big deal, I’ll just clean it up and it’ll be like new” (spoiler: wasn’t the case at all). Another thing to mention is the carpet was replaced in the whole unit, except ONE room. I didn’t think much of it at the time because that’s a pretty normal thing in between tenants, but more on that later. Now, I’m not sure what sort of magic the landlord did while I was touring the apartment, as there was no smell of cat urine - at all. Didn’t even cross my mind. I move in a little bit later and everything is fine. Fast forward a few days and I notice a smell in the one bedroom where the carpet WASN’T replaced. I noticed my own cat was acting a little strange and sure enough I discovered he peed on the floor. Very foolish me at the time thought this was it, and having no knowledge on cat pee, I grabbed my carpet shampooer and shampooed the section of carpet where he peed. While I was at it, I figured, “Why not just shampoo this whole room?” Sure enough, that made it worse. This is when I went full detective mode on my hands and knees smelling every inch of the carpet while my cat is staring at me wondering wtf I’m doing. I quickly realized the smell extended far beyond where my own cat had peed. I ran to the internet and began researching the topic of Cat Urine as if I was writing a thesis on it. This is when I learned that when cat urine is rewetted, it reactivates uric acid to recrystallize and suddenly made sense as to why this entire room now reeks of cat urine - I just wetted the entire carpet with the shampooer. Two corners of this room in particular smelled extra terrible, and at this point there was no way my cat did of all of this on his own. I resorted to pulling up about a foot of the carpet and was instantly hit with the most rancid, stale, rotten cat urine smell. The entire carpet pad was stained, the entire subfloor was stained, it seriously was AWFUL. At this point, I connected the dots: the previous tenants had a SERIOUS cat pee problem, hence why the carpet was replaced. I went around the unit and smelled nearly every corner in the unit and another 3 corners smelled just as bad on the wall and baseboards in the rooms where the carpet WAS replaced. No idea why the last bedroom didn't get it's carpet replaced too, but it was obvious at this point there was a major problem, and if I owned the place, I’d be ripping out the carpet in the last bedroom. However, that isn’t an option, so I resorted to finding a solution that would work for now. The biggest takeaway is you need one very key ingredient to get rid of the problem: Enzymes There’s tons of enzyme cleaners. I started with Rocco & Roxie and the fragrance nearly took me out. Probably would have worked if I used enough, but only used 32 oz of it - not nearly enough and didn’t want to buy more because of the intense fragrance. I tried Skout’s Honor because of good reviews and realized once I got home it’s not even an enzyme cleaner. Sure enough, didn’t work. This leads me to Anti Icky Poo, and thankfully I think this will be my last product. (And HUGE bonus is that it comes in an unscented version - definitely recommend that version) One really important thing to point out is you need to follow the instructions, especially for major urine problems. It says right on the bottle you’ll need at least a quart for 1 corner and multiple applications may be necessary. Acknowledge this step! For me, this equated to needing literally GALLONS of this. The key to this product is absolutely dousing the affected area and letting it stay soaked. In my case, I poured about a gallon on one corner, let it sit for a whole day with trash bags on top to preventing it from evaporating, and after drying it was probably 95% better! Realistically, I’m sure there will always be some odor in this case due to the subfloor being stained with the urine. It’s not a miracle product that will suddenly replace your subfloors soaked with years of cat pee - it just does what it says. This was clearly a problem that is too long gone at this point and likely needs complete replacement of subflooring. But, like I said, this isn’t an option, so I believe this product dealt with my issue in the best way given the circumstances. Maybe at some point I'll buy some more, pull up the carpet, and try soaking the subflooring, but thankfully, the room no longer smells like cat urine, and the only way you even get any hint of a smell is if you stick your nose directly in the corner. Overall, this product is really great. It does exactly what it says it’s going to. It didn’t rip out my subflooring and replace it, but it doesn’t claim to. There’s obviously physical limitations to a liquid product. But for most issues, this will do what it claims to do. Just don’t spritz your carpet with a decade of cat pee embedded into it and expect it to work, you really have to use it very liberally.

A MUST for anyone with a cat
We love cats. We have an 15 year old cat who is old, misses the litter box, and thinks it is acceptable to use potted plants as a place to relieve himself. He shoots straight back now that he has arthritis. Before he entered old age, his best friend (also a male cat who passed away at 16) took to peeing in random places - in the lego box and on the carpet. The last year with two old cats has reminded us why people don't adopt cats. We also recently adopted a kitten with an inflamed bladder who has urinating issues - she took to peeing on the bed for some reason (new duvet cover too). But Anti-Icky Poo is incredible. Follow the directions and this stuff eats/dissolves the pee and the smell. For sheets, I treat the spot with vinegar first, followed by hydrogen peroxide. I then launder the sheets and pour the enzyme on the sheets and let the sheets air dry. Those sheets are then put away for at least two weeks once dry. There is absolutely no smell of pee. I've injected this product into carpet mats, and poured it on wooden floors so that it sinks behind baseboards. We've used it on car seats, sheets, walls, carpet, carpet pads, towels - you name it. We have four cats in this house at present. Our house should absolutely reek of cat urine at this point because of the two old cats, and the one young one, in addition to all the kittens we've fostered who have peed in the plants. Yet, you cannot smell pee in the house. I ask everyone who enters, "Does my house smell like cats?" No - I always get the answer no, and it is because of this product. Fantastic for those of us living with lots of animals, but who don't want to live like animals.
