Surprised by size & material change

I purchased a pair of these in "Mountain Lion Camo" over a year ago and, because I like them so much, I purchased a new pair in Apr 2023 using the same size. I was VERY surprised to find that the new fabric feels much more synthetic and lightweight than the older pair. I was also surprised that the new pair is between a half or whole size SMALLER than the previous pair as well. I didn't see anything in the product description that suggested either of those things would be true. However, these still fit (as long as they don't shrink in the wash!) so I'll keep them. As for durability, well, well see if they last as long as the other pair (which I wear several times a week and they still look like new.) EDIT: I checked the label on the previous pair of these I purchased and they are 98% Cotton, 2% Spandex. So the fabric has definitely changed to a less comfortable (to me), more "plastic-y" feeling 73% Cotton, 24% Nylon, 3% Spandex. I guess I'll be looking for a replacement that is still using cotton. Shame on Amazon for telling me this is the same product as what I bought before, because it clearly is not.

A great "long cargo" short from Lee.

This would have been a 5-star except the short is longer (over the knee) than typical cargo short. It has deep pockets, which is vital to me and it is well made as expected from Lee Co. It is exceptionally durable and very comfortable.

Cheap zipper but my husband is so happy with them!

My husband is 6’4, and he is so happy to find shorts his size (33) and the correct tall length!’ All the shorts at target or wherever go well above his knee and when he sits they usually ride up so much further. But these are his new favorite. They go past his knee! Even when he sits, it lightweight for summer. Gives him room he says. When I was examining the pants. They do look cheaply ish made, but not at a distance. The zipper is definitely one of the cheapest zippers I’ve seen in awhile though. But as soon as that breaks, I’ll stitch on a good one. I’m gunna have to order more colors!

Why is it so difficult to find long shorts?

If you're reading this then you know that finding shorts which go just past your knee are difficult to find in the U.S. They are popular in Europe and Asia, but not here (although just about everyone I come across asks me, " where do you get all your long shorts?"). The answer, mostly from the UK. So when I saw these I immediately bought 2 pairs in different colors. The quality is average, similar to pants found in Walmart and Target. The stitching in some places is flawed but they have held up. The fabric is not the most comfortable but probably will be after lots of washing/drying (although my dark colored ones have begun to fade after 6 months of constant wash and wear). The fit is good (maybe a teeny bit snug in the buttocks), but I do like that the legs are not wide (relaxed/baggy) like most shorts here. My main call for improvement is in design..... get rid of the cargo pockets!! They cheapen the look and really don't serve any function. These are great for my teen and I've come to not-mind-so-much wearing them myself. Still holding up after a year of regular wear. I'm 5'11", 165lbs, 32 waist.

Very comfortable

After looking at a few knee length shorts, decided to get this one and was pleasantly surprised. This short is very comfortable and light. Goes a little beyond the knee in length, but that is exactly how i wanted it. The belt is not necessary but adds a nice touch to it. Very happy with the purchase.

Washed out fabric.

The quality is good. I am normally waist 34 and this shorts were a touch loose for my liking so I stitched up the waist a bit. My only concern is with the fabric. Slightly stretchy cotton is fine, but it looks like washed out. I was looking for a more presentable look, but they look like a backyard shorts after 100 washes. Quality, fit - ok. Appearance - so so. I wouldn't buy again.

Excellent Shorts

These are very well made and comfortable shorts. The material is light and cool but clearly very durable. Principle seems are triple stitched. I ordered a pair, liked them so much I ordered two more pairs. Highly recommended.

fit was perfect

size 40 fit was exact. Loved the multiple pockets
