lots of wrong info for this product on Amazon

this Lasco tank lever in antique bronze arrived fairly quickly from Amazon. the color appeared to match antique brass despite the label saying otherwise. the blister plastic was crumpled due to being shipped in a padded envelope. the product number matches as described here and on Amazon and also on Lasco's website. however, this does not have a plastic spud. the spud is the threaded part that inserts through the toilet tank and holds it in place while a locking nut is screwed on from the backside. instead of being plastic, it is metal (coated zinc, I believe). i'm guessing that Amazon may have been provided the description from the manufacturer's website and in turn the manufacturer's website may be inaccurate due to either outdated info or updated product construction. I've had metal spuds on levers before and no matter the material, they will corrode eventually. if Lasco did have a plastic spud before, I wish they'd bring it back. that makes the most sense when assembling parts to a toilet itself. you don't really want any metal touching against the virtuous china. it can easily mark glazed surfaces or crack the unglazed side of the surface should it be even slightly overtightened. the lever itself inside the package seemed to jiggle a lot. I think there may be concern that the handle would have a floppy feeling when installed. not a sturdy solid feel. the finish of the handle was nice and definitely antique brass. I didn't open or install this lever onto my toilet because it did not have the plastic spud and instead I had to return it. it may work for other folks, but not for me.

Decent handle

It flushes. 5 stars for value and easy installation. I gots it as tight as I possibly could without cracking tank but it's still a little loose

Perfect replacement handle

Product arrived within a couple days. Works perfect. Easy to install. Seems sturdy and has been reliably flushing since installation. May need to install one at the white house. Having a hard time flushing something out of there.

Metal and good quality but it was more silver than bronze. It's a toilet handle so I'm not to worried about it but if I take the time to buy a certain toilet handle I wish it would be as described.

Can be used for side-mount handles!

I didn't realize that there was a difference between front mount and side mount handles until these arrived. Rather than send them back, I just bent it to match the existing handle (Kohler toilet) and it works like a charm. The original handles had a plastic piece going into the toilet tank; these are solid brass, which is easy to bend. I replaced them on all 3 of our toilets to match the existing bathroom fixtures.

This was a nice addition to spiffing up my bathroom. Not difficult to install and it is of decent quality for the money. Some of them the lid doesn't stay up with them but with this one it does.
