They are skinny Jeans
They are a great pair of jeans. They are skinny jeans so it’s dicey if you a bigger guy. It could get a little right in the thighs. I’m 6’3” and 225lbs it’s a close call but they do look and feel good!

Nice
When I buy jeans, I like Wranglers. I like the quality and the fit. These Joe's Jeans seem to be several steps higher on the Fashionista scale. I prefer 100% cotton clothing and this pair of pants is 93% with 6% "Elasterell" and 1% Spandex, I guess the latter 2 are for stretch and flexibility. The fabric feels much softer and supple than any of my other denim jeans. It is very comfortable to wear even brand new out of the package - like it has already been washed dozens of times. However, it is kind of thin. I wore the Ashers for a 40 minute walk on a day when the "feels like" temperature was 12°F and I felt the cold in my legs. That doesn't happen with Wranglers or Levis, so I guess these are dressy rather than working jeans. I'm about 5'9" to 5'10" and 158 pounds. I take a 34 or 36 waist and a 30 inseam in pants depending on brand and style. Because of the "Slim fit" designation, I took these Joes in 36. Good move on my part. They fit nicely (though I could use just a bit more "rise") but the legs are waaay long. That's to be expected since the specification gives no inseam length. I cuff them inside the leg so they come down to my shoe like my usual 30 inch inseam. That cuff measures 3+ inches. It stays put, surprisingly, but I might put a stitch or two in there to keep them that way. They have belt loops and accommodate the widest jeans belt that I own. They have the usual assortment of pockets including change pocket. I don't like to wear clothing manufacturers' advertising and the Joe's have none at all - not even the leather patch under the belt in back. I've laundered them (machine wash warm, tumble dry medium) and they look as good as when new. There is virtually no wrinkling at all. I could not detect any shrinkage. The fit is still great. These are manufactured in Mexico.

Quite slim, but with some stretch. In-between sizes should order larger.
These basic denim jeans are decent quality, stylish, and fairly true to size. My Levi's size is about 35, so I can usually wear a 34 and over time (laundering and stretching), they fit well although are a bit tight in the beginning of their life cycle. For these modern fashion jeans (slim fit, material often contains some Lycra or other elastic content), I recommend ordering a size larger if you're an odd size (31, 33, 35, etc.). These Joe's Jeans Asher trousers are genuinely slim and the 36 size is perfect for me, including a bit of length, as I'm 6'2" with long legs. The fit is slender and a bit of a hug but I like how they slightly stretch, giving me good comfort and plenty of coverage at the top and the ankle, especially when sitting. The construction appears to be very good. I haven't noticed any flaws and the stitching is great: straight, tight, and bar tacked at all the expected places. No loose seams anywhere. Pocket placement is ideal. Only the buttonhole appears to be a little tight for the selected shank button but this will wear over time and close nicely. The zipper is steel and is very smooth. There is no excess fabric in the crotch area and while the waistband sits slightly lower than Levi's 501s, these aren't low-riders. They're fashionable without basic coverage. Exterior labels are genuine embossed leather. One very slight criticism: These are lightly distressed in order to look slightly worn-in. It's a great effect but the tops of the front pockets are a bit overdone and the distressing will soon turn to too much wear after laundering and the friction from my hands in and out of my pockets grabbing keys, etc. Overall, I'm impressed. I expected thinner denim that is cut slim and stretches, so the material is a different type than classic Levi's or Wrangler jeans. These are for style and aren't for hard wearing. As such, the quality is good, the fit is great. And I recommend a size larger if you're an in-between size like myself.

Comfortable With Good Detailing
I am surprised at the seeming controversy in reviews about the cut, and was worried that these would be a skin tight skinny rather than a current fashion slim. I am not saying one is better than the other, but for me skinny is a style that is a little bit outdated now apart from certain fashions that don't work for me. The cut here is, in my opinion, a perfect "slim," with a bit of tapering to keep things looking clean without being tight. There is still some bagginess and room for movement. They could even work a size down if you like them a little tighter and there is room for thick thighs if you work out (or are just genetically fortunate). One thing people seem to agree on is that the fabric is super comfortable, and I am with the majority on that. This is a combination material with some stretch and has that characteristic pajama feel that is so pleasant. The weight is medium, so they do not feel cheap, but they also do not have the high end pure denim feel. I have some jeans with that and they just live in my closet because they are so stiff. I could wear these every week. The material has some patterning that elevates the look, and the edges are roughed up as well. The black hardware matches perfectly. These definitely look nicer than the typical jeans from a mall brand like AE. It's hard to tell anyone to buy clothing without trying it on, but Amazon usually has a good policy on returns. If you are willing to go through that hassle or have a local store that sells these, I think you'll be very happy with them. Do keep in mind that you'll need to cuff the bottom or shorten them to your leg length.
