I really liked these at first, but...

I was careful in selecting these particular ice cube trays, due to the amount each cube slot holds, since I use them to freeze herbal tea. I purchased 2 of the trays on Nov 4, 2022. This past week one of the lids, which is made of hard plastic, decided to crack in several places. The irony is I've always been very careful with these trays when placing them into the freezer. I would recommend to the manufacturer to use silicone for the lids instead of a hard plastic. Anyway, it looks like I may move on to another brand such as OXO. Disappointing because otherwise these trays met my needs, even though it wasn't that easy to dislodge a frozen cube from the tray when filled almost to the top with liquid.

Great For Freezing Scrambled Eggs

I use this to freeze eggs that I have scrambled (uncooked). Each compartment holds the equivalent of one large egg. Simply defrost and use like a fresh egg in baking or frying.

Quarter-cup cubes - how handy!

I love to use these to turn my homemade stock into quarter-cup frozen cubes to be available when needed, in the amount needed, for some savory recipe that isn't soup! Chicken marsala for 2, grab a few cubes. Beef bourguignon for 2, grab a few cubes. Et cetera :) And for just plain ice? Two giant ice cubes in a Mojito or in iced tea -- they don't melt fast in your beverage!

Everything is easy about this ice tray. Easy to fill, cover, stack, remove, repeat. Makes a nice sharp cube.

Large Cubes, Hard to Remove

It okay. It hasn't broken and it does not leak. I have no idea why I need the cover but I am continuing to use it in I figure it out one day. Filling is very easy, getting the ice cubes out, not so easy. First it is hard to remove the cover (which is why I am not so sure I need it). Once you get the cover off, it is hard to the ice cubes out. They do come out eventually, I have never had to use hot water to get them out but you need some finger strength. The ice cubes themselves are great. Large, do not melt quick. You use just one to keep your drink cold. Overall, i do not find this ice cube tray worth it for the price and it is very expensive for what it is.
