My grand daughter loves JoJo so she needed a book shelf for her books and when I bought it she was very happy

Really cool bookcase for kid (and adult) Potter Heads

The bookcase came without the bag of screws and such needed to put it together and it did take a week and a half to get a response to my request and another couple days to get the bag in the mail but they were nice about it and I know Covid is probably still affecting employee numbers. It was tricky to put together myself (the instructions show the side slat on the ground with each shelf standing up vertically but the shelf kept tipping so I put the side slat and shelves horizontally and up against a box to hold it steady and that worked) so I'd recommend having a second person to hold things still. It's nothing heavy duty but it holds all 7 books, hardback, 4 illustrated books, plus both Percy Jackson, Eragon, Leven Thumps, and Inkheart series so a decent bookcase. The shelves aren't adjustable and aren't tall enough for the illustrated versions to stand up so they're on their sides. Two of the shelves did come with white paint splotches on them too but I didn't have time to wait another 2 weeks to put together the bookcase and get all the books and Harry Potter paraphernalia off the floor. I know it sounds like a bad review, I just want people to know in case those are deal breakers for them, but I really do love the bookcase. It's just the right size and looks great while also being functional.

Great value, easy to follow instructions. Shelf is very sturdy and should last a long time. Gloss finish is easy to clean, has great size shelves for taller books.

One star for assembling

One star for assembling but four stars overall. Pros—it’s sturdy, perfect size and it’s Harry Potter! Cons—assembly was awful. Nothing was labeled. Example; connect A to B. Well nothing had any type of identification. There was pictures to somewhat to follow but most of it o had to eye up. If I’m paying $50 for a small bookshelf, they should at least have things labeled for the best assembly. Another thing but not a huge deal, while touching the boards and such, there was a blueish marks on my hands so you’ll want to carefully wipe down before using.

Easy to assemble

I am not the one to assemble things in my home. However, this only took me half an hour, and with the instructions was self explanatory. The directions say you only need screwdrivers, and I am mentioning this because that was true for me. One thing to note for those that do not assemble things, as is the case with me: look at the way the nuts have to be placed into the hole. I say this because when you go to put your screw in, it will not go in. Also, the nuts are hard to remove if you've made the mistake of putting them in the wrong way. However, I learned from doing it wrong once. I simply coaxed it out and was able to do it easily the second time around. Another thing, is if you have a small child with large (tall) books, these will not fit. However, I am able to fit some pretty decent sized books on the shelf and it definitely serves its purpose for us. To address the smell- I did not have that problem with this shelf, or the batman one I purchased for my son. It goes to show that what happens for one does not always happen for the other! I would definitely recommend this book case. It has a lot more space than I had expected, which is a huge plus! Both of my kids have a lot of books and figurines that can easily be displayed now.

Value for money

Got it on sale (less than $30) so it’s really good value for the amount paid. It’s solid and cute. Not very deep or high so some of the books stick out or need to be placed face down.
