Very good quality lasts for years.
Mostly happy. But the harness in the pitcher is not exactly what I got sent. My dog is in between sizes between medium and small. The old harness which was from my other dogs that I had is a medium if I adjusted to a smaller size it fits OK but if he really wants to he slips out of it. So I ordered the same brand name and the same exact model that was shown in the picture to be exactly like the one that I can only a small. Wild or small is too small he fits barely into it if I make it as big as it goes. They sell extensions. Because my new (small) harness has different clips than what are shown in the picture. . And they are different from what the clips are on the harness extension . They would have sent the harness that was in the picture with the clips that were in the picture . They would have for the extensions. Dean and Taylor. Please be more consistent with your products and please standardize the types. I did takeoff one star for this. I’m going to have to let my dog lose about 2 pounds so I can use this harness on a consistent basis. That’s OK because you can lose a pound or two but still disappointed in Dean and Taylor

Love this amazing harness!
Can't say enough great things about this harness. My boyfriend decided on this harness for our 5 year pitbull (around 45-50 lbs.) based on previous reviews from others with the same breed as well as other breeds similiar in size. Our little girl would constantly tug & pull (& even pulled me down once!) with just a collar & leash. Other harnesses seemed to have little effect - getting pretty much the same result as a collar, only the digging into her skin would be on her chest vs. her neck. I refused to take her out by myself because I just didnt think I could control her all alone (my issue, not hers). She is trained & listens great, but she (as pitbulls do) has a very short attention span, so she would be doing great, see another animal/object & her instinct to play or be curious would kick in - meaning she would dart for that object (not in a bad manner for you pitbull haters out there!!). My boyfriend was able to take her out but they would have to run constantly for her to keep focus....which isnt bad, but I can't keep up with the two of them! :p Now, I can walk her by myself, with my boyfriend, in a group, etc. She will walk right past other animals & doesnt budge...she is constantly aware of her mission to be on the walk or hike. The very first night that we got this we took her out for a walk & WHAT A DIFFERENCE! We instantly noticed how effective it was. She didn't tug at all...in fact, she would feel the leash's tension as she used all the slack I had given her & she would slow down instantly...I wouldnt even have to correct her - she knew to do this since the harness pulls at her body, not the neck - much more commanding to these dogs - and this doesnt dig into her at all due to the placement of the harness. We've taken her out using the harness many times since & have had the same result each time - I think she is improving too! I think it's not only a relief to us but to her as well. She seems to really enjoy her walks a lot more & her anxiety (she has separation issues) seems to have gotten better now. She can truly enjoy her walk without the stress of us commanding & correcting her every few steps. The harness keeps her in check & we can take a walk/run at our pace & she can actually enjoy it...this harness is just amazing & I would have paid double for it! It's tough & built to last & the handle on top of the harness is great added feature. Highly recommended!

The Best Set Up For My Sidekick and Me
To start with – I don’t like using a collar for anything but for hanging the necessary tags; walking a dog with one I feel can put unnecessary stress on the dogs’ neck and spine. Training can be a different story but for walking/hiking IMO a harness is the only way to go. Now I’ll get off my soapbox. The Dean Tyler DT harness arrived too late yesterday for my sidekick and me to give it a trial run so there wasn't any rush to adjust it which, in my case, was quite simple. My buddy, who I've had for only a month, is an older Aussie Shepherd who just wants to be fed, walked and loved, he’s not one to pull me or try to escape the harness. I still had the harness from my previous friend but it didn't fit the same so I purchased a used DT from Amazon. My new sidekick put his head right in and had a smile on his face; he was ready for another walk for the day. The construction looks solid with straps wide enough, (2 inches wide), so they shouldn't dig in and become uncomfortable. I took him for a walk this morning using a 6’ lead, he didn't pull or try to back out; he knew he was on a controlled walk. This afternoon I took him for a little trail walking using a 30 foot retractable lead this time; he knew he had more freedom but again didn't try to pull me. The handle was quite handy when other dogs approached; I was able to have complete control while the other dog owners didn't. For those concerned about your buddy performing a Houdini and escaping the harness I’d think attaching a short lanyard between one of the D rings on the harness and the dogs martingale collar would solve the problem. I made one using some ½ inch strap webbing and a couple carabiners but didn't use it. Come to think about it is there a harness made Houdini’s can’t escape?

Best-In-Class Pressure Dispersion; Elite Construction
The media could not be loaded. Dean and Tyler's dog harness vest is ideally constructed, and has separately served our two beloved dogs over a span of two purchases and many, many years. Observations: (1) You'll see no thin straps that with pulling and tugging can cut into a dog's skin and fur. This vest's broadly cut and stoutly padded fabric uses the simple laws of physics to disperse pressure across a wide area. (2) The black fabric is easily washable, and has never torn on us. It looks and feels protective, comfortable, and built for the long haul. (3) Its large plastic buckle snaps right into place -- this is an easy harness vest to put on and take off. Just a top-of-the-line dog harness and therefore still a great value at this not-inexpensive price point. - (Was this of use? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!)

Great harness
Wonderful harness. I had a hard time finding a harness that works with a guide dog handle small enough for my dog. Finally I found this brand and it works and fits perfectly! Great quality and had areas for patches.
