Superb AirCast product
This cast provides exceptional support and comfort. Very customizable inflation chambers that have helped reduce swelling and increased support. I used this cast for a broken Fibula at ankle. My clinic provided the walker FP upon initial diagnosis of a broken ankle which worked to stabilize the fracture until further medical consultation. Fortunately I did not require surgery, however the AirCast FP did not provide the stability needed for weight bearing nor the level of customization or comfort, especially to help with swelling. In consultation with my medical provider, I ordered the walker XP once my fracture was stable and it exceeded my expectations. It is much more comfortable than the FP and has allowed me to begin weight bearing (with medical guidance of course) which I cannot do in my FP without discomfort. This cast has accelerated my healing process by minimizing atrophy and supported walking earlier, as well as helped reduce swelling. I am very pleased with this purchase. Also, a lot cheaper to buy here than through a medical provider but of course, you should totally check with your orthopedist. Also, quick note; not a good cast if you have large calves, which I do not have so it works excellently for me.

Better when it works
The first Aircast I’d received was clearly both defective and a return that got sent out again. The front air bladder would not hold any air (and it came without socks, whereas the new one came with 2 socks in a plastic bag). Amazon very quickly sent a replacement, which is much more comfortable when it can be properly inflated. This CAM boot does the job well enough. I also purchased the Aircast Select Elite, which I would say is worth the premium. It is both lighter on my leg and the inflation system is considerably easier to use (built in inflation/deflation vs an external pump). I’ll continue to use the Elite for walking and being away from home, and the XP for when I’m staying inside all day.

Great support... for a week....
I bought this boot after surgery #5 on the same foot. It is the 5th or 6th boot I've had in the 6 years since my injury. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, it was great for the first week I wore it, but now I'm having issues. I wear a women's size 11 shoe. According to the size chart, I should get a medium or large. I bought the medium (since that's the size of all my other boots....same brand, different "model"). I'm only semi-weight bearing at the moment. I'm a bit "fluffy" but don't have monstrous legs. I put this boot on, and within minutes, the top cover slides sideways exposing part of my leg and the velcro slips down (see pictures) causing increased motion and pain when walking. (I had tendon/ligament repairs/replacements...5 times) Does anyone have any suggestions on how the boot is "supposed" to fit?? I may just be using it wrong. Most people don't have to wear a boot for months at a time, I, on the other hand, seem to enjoy having to wear a boot for 3+ mos at a time! The Dr told me it looked right after I put it on at my last appt.

Arrived used
I broke my foot and it was recommended I get this boot. I saw nowhere that said I was buying a used item, the order said new. The sock it came with was visibly dirty. The sole of the boot was dirty and the inside was as well. I am a single mom that needs this boot to move around in order to be able to take care of my children. I can’t wait on a replacement as I have been relying on the kindness of my parents waiting for this to come in. I am fully disappointed.

Finally, no more walking lopsided.
This is the most comfortable of three boots I tried. The sole is not as thick as others so you can wear running or walking sneakers and not be lopsided. The only thing I don’t like is that the air pumps are not built in. It brings a separate little pump so make sure the air support feels right before you get going. Otherwise just slide the little pump inside the boot so you can adjust on the go.

Missing hand bulb air pump
It's hard to give this a good review since an important component is missing. There is no hand bulb air pump to customize the level of support needed, which is the key feature of this model. I called DJO (the company that owns Aircast) to get the missing part (because the boot does me no good without being able to tighten the fit). I was told to call back tomorrow -- something wrong with their system? No way to manually take down the information so they can expedite things? In other words, the boot I was able to get in 24 hours I can't where for a couple more days -- assuming they're able to help me tomorrow.

Half the price!!
Twisted my ankle, went to a "prompt care", was told I needed this walking cast for a sprain. Happily the nurse was honest about it not being covered under my insurance which led me to do a quick Amazon search. Literally, half the price delivered in 48 hours(mostly). Comfortable to wear? Kind of? Keeping in mind the limitations of possible comfort associated with your lower leg being velcro-ed into a foam lined hard plastic form it was acceptable. I found wearing a Dansko clog on the unaffected leg prevented uneven leg heights.

Mi esposo me compro esta bota despides de que me ride por las escaleras y me rompí los ligamentos . Maravillosa es al poderme ayudar a apoyar el pie y caminar sin tener que dar brincos dolorosos con las muletas ha sido bastante importante en este mes de recuperación sin ella no podría moverme con facilidad y asistir a mis citas médicas El inconveniente: es muy pesada y cuando la lesión es muy reciente duele al dar cada paso por el peso, conforme me he aliviado ya tengo más fuerza en el pie y siento que me pesa menos.
